I had the same problem, went to the yonker and got the coils, new cables and spark plugs, the check engine light is now off and the car is runing great, total cost $45.00 thanks to the yonker. I always test the parts like I tested the coil before leaving the yonker

You can take it to most auto parts store Auto Zone or Advance and they can hook up the code reader and reset the light. We tend to use Auto Zone for our 98 Kia Sportage the carry more parts on the shelf for it.
