I have a Mazda 929 (1993) I had the same problem last year...I got a new alternator, and some new wires and spark plugs. Haven't had a problem with it since.

If your Mazda B3000 is sputtering in 5th gear, it could be due to a few reasons. Common causes include insufficient fuel delivery, such as a clogged fuel filter or failing fuel pump, which can affect performance at higher speeds. Additionally, issues with the ignition system, like worn spark plugs or ignition coils, may cause misfires that are more noticeable in higher gears. Lastly, check for any vacuum leaks or problems with the transmission that could impact power delivery in 5th gear.
u might have your hose unplugged or a bad hose going to your throttle body that for sure will do that
