Why won't the brake light in my Toyota 4runner won't work?

Most likely bad bulb. 3 times it should come on. Turn the key to the on position, car running with brake set, and when fluid is low. The last can be simulated by removing the brake fluid cap from the reservoir and let it hang loose, just use a rag so it wont drip on the paint and peel it.

If these 3 fail to get a light you have to remove the console and replace the lamp.
