Car had a faulty immobilizer that caused the problem.
If you can't find the ignition switch then it appears that you may either be too drunk or too stupid to be behind a steering wheel. You're joking, right?
Try turning the steering wheel one direction or the other as you try to turn the key.
Check the crankshaft sensor and ignition coil on the Focus. It appears that one of these may be failing as it heats up.
you did not say if was carb but if so spray pump in the carb is a good place to start
It is very possibly the ignition switch but there are certainly other possibilities as well. In any case, you'll need to learn some electrical diagnostic skills. The ignition switch appears faulty.
Press and hold the HR or MIN arrow for two seconds. Then press the HR arrow until the correct hour appears. Press and hold the MIN arrow until the correct minute appears. The clock may be set with the ignition on or off.
Press and hold Reset button which is the button immediately below the speedometer. Switch the ignition on and keep the button depressed until "---" appears in the display. Release the button and switch the ignition off. If required clear the "OIL" indication from the display in the same way.
There appears to be a problem with 2001 Hyundai Accent electrical system. IE: When I turn on my ignition, the radio comes on. Have checked.
The ignition module is not on the steering column. The module should be located on the distributor, on the outside, right below the cap. There should be a plug with a bunch of wires going to it. You will need a special tool to remove the small scews that hold it on.
It is located underneath the coils. on the fire wall side of the engine, appears that is best to remove the 3 larger nuts and remove the crank sensor caddy with the ignition and coils as an assembly as it is too difficult to reassemble the pack on the block

Your ignition relay might be bad if you have good power at the battery, but nothing happens at the starter when you turn the key, all the lights light up and everything appears normal, but the starter will not engage. You may also hear a click when turning the key to start, but nothing else.
