if you mean stall like when stepping on the gas and it just starts to act as if it got punched in the stomach then this is what i did to my lesabre.First changed the clogged fuel filter,then on half a tank inserted two bottles of dry gas (cost is like 1.60 each from auto zone).Then I ran it down to E and switch the cheap gas from Sunnoco and put in Hess ...no problems.Made a mistake went back to Sunnoco after the problem was gone...it came right back.Went back to Hess no more problems.
Try checking the fuses under the hood. My Regal did that and I found the fuse for the electronic ignition was blown.
On most autos when you turn the ignition off you also turn the power to the power outlets off. Turn the key back on and restart the player.
You probably have a bad ignition switch where the accessory position is on all of the time. I am having the same problem on a '97 and will be replacing the switch as soon as I can figure out how to get to it.
