You might want to check the parking brake to make sure that didn't get pushed down while you were working on them. This will turn on the light. So will having too little brake fluid in the reservior (especially if you replaced the calipers or wheel cylinders and didn't bleed the system). If you just replaced the shoes or pads, then it's probably something to do with the parking brake. Pull the pedal, or make sure the lever is all the way down. Hope this helps.

You got a 95 Nissan Maxima and the rear brakes on the driverside are not working What could be the problem?

If there are disc brake, it could be frozen caliper slides or a frozen caliper piston. If they are drum brakes, it could be a frozen wheel cylinder.

How do you push the brake cylinder back in on the rear brakes of a 1987 Nissan 200SX?

If the brakes are disk on the rear they can't be push or pressed in they have to be screwed in by turning the piston clock wise try this it should work. That is what I did on my 1994 Nissan Maxima becareful not to damage the rubber dust boot on the piston.
