First check your fuse for your AC in your fuse box, make sure it is good. Make sure your cooling fan is turning on when you turn on your AC, if not it could be your fan relay. If the AC compressor fan clutch is kicking on and off then it just needs freon. If the AC compressor fan clutch is not turning then it could be completely out of freon due to a leak, or you need a new AC compressor.
I found a place where I think it should be a relay on my 1996 Mazda 626. That was under the hood in the fuse box. Im searching to see if I really need a relay to make the AC work. I think that's why my AC isn't working.

WE finally found it on the compresson housing near the "S" suction , large hose connection.
Inside of fuse box under hood...after lifting top off the fuse is black and has B458
heres one on each tire ( wheel ) also under the hood theres 2 for the ac, and another on the fuel rail.
