To fix a knocking engine noise in a 1989 Nissan 240SX, start by checking the engine oil level and condition, as low or dirty oil can cause knocking. If the oil is fine, inspect the engine for loose components, such as heat shields or exhaust parts. A more serious issue could involve worn bearings or a damaged piston, so consider performing a compression test or a rod knock diagnosis. If the problem persists, it may be best to consult a mechanic for a thorough inspection and possible repairs.

To fix a misfire on a 1994 Nissan 240SX, start by checking the ignition system, including spark plugs, ignition coils, and wires, as worn or faulty components can cause misfires. Next, inspect the fuel system for clogs or issues with the fuel injectors and ensure the fuel filter is clean. Additionally, check for vacuum leaks and verify that the engine is getting the correct air-fuel mixture. If the problem persists, consider running a diagnostic scan to identify any error codes that may provide further insight into the issue.
