As seen in the Star Wars series, no. However, The Berkly institute has developed a contained plasma arc device that looks, sounds, and behaves much like a light saber. It is far from portable though, as it takes a massive amount of power to operate as well as equipment the size of an SUV, not a flashlight.
A Sabre is a heavy single-edged sword, with a curved blade. Cavalry (horsemen), used the Sabre during war. As far as a light Sabre goes, no, they are not real.
As a modern-day religious group, the Jedi do indeed exist. However, they are not the Jedi of the films. They adopt names like Jedi-ist and Jedi Realist, and their beliefs are based around the philosophies of the Star Wars films by George Lucas, with some modifications (it looks as though these are site-specific, in most cases). However, if you want lightsabers and laser guns, you're out of luck: these Jedi don't practice telekinesis or build super-technological devices, and they don't fly around in spaceships--so, as cool as it sounds, the Jedi of the films will remain there.
If space didn't exist, there would be no distance or separation between objects and matter. Everything would be compressed into a single point, with no room for expansion or movement. The concept of time and dimensions as we know them would likely not exist in such a scenario.
The only word we can think of is "Universe". But if that's the one the question isfishing for, then its description is much too restrictive. The Universe is not only thetotality of all things that exist. It also includes all of the space in which they haveever existed or could exist, as well as all of the time in which they have existed,do exist, or will exist. Now that's a Universe.

They first used steel swords, then experimented with what they called "Frozen Blaster" technology, but these early Lightsabers were bulky and required a cable attached to a power pack on the Jedi's belt. Further experimentation led to Lightsabers.
