Because the moon has no magnetosphere - compasses are based on magnetic energy. == ==
As long as the sun is up.
The night is 14 ish days long.
Remember that signal mirrors of handheld size will only work for short distances, not from or to the Earth.
A magnetic compass would not work on the Moon because, though the Moon has a slight magnetic field, it's not like the magnetic field we have here on Earth.
i don't know why it wouldn't ..
It would Align itself with the earth's megnetic field if the moon's core is solid (no one knows whats a few feet below the surface of the moon, we know alomost nothing about the moon), or if the moon's intearar is liguid then it most likely has a magnetic field and the compass would Align with that.
In my opinion I think the magnetic compass is more important because It made worldwide travel easier and encouraged more exploration.
d0uchbag invented the compass
The dry compass was invented around 1300.

No because the Moon does not have a magnetic field like the Earth does. The Earth's magnetic field appears to be created by a liquid metalic out core circulating around a solid core. This works like a dynamo which creates the magnetic field around the Earth. The Moon lacks a similar core stucture. This is also the reason why the Monn has no atmosphere.A magnetic compass would not work on the moon, for the moon does not have the magnetic field that the earth has, allowing us to use this device. No, because moon does not have magnetic force like earth
It would be more beneficial to have a star chart than a compass because a compass only works on earth. The compass uses the magnetic field that is generated by the north side of the earth. On the moon, there is no strong magnetic field on the north side, making a compass useless in finding your way back.
Because if you need to use your compass to figure out which direction is north, then you need to know by how much the direction the compass points is wrong, and which way. That's the magnetic declination.
Because of the magnetic force. The compass needle is also magnetic.Because of the magnetic force. The compass needle is also magnetic.Because of the magnetic force. The compass needle is also magnetic.Because of the magnetic force. The compass needle is also magnetic.
A compass. The North magnetic pole is in the direction of the N on the compass. Therefore, the North magnetic pole is in fact a magnetic field south pole since it *attracts* the north magnetic field pole of the compass magnet.
No,a Gyrosyn compass is a combination of a Magnetic compass and Direct reading compass.
why was a magnetic compass so important
No. I assume you mean a magnetic compass. A magnetic compass reacts to magnetic fields; the magnetic south pole of Earth is not exactly at the geographic north pole, so at some points of the Earth's surface, the magnetic compass will actually point south instead of north. Also, a magnetic compass will be influenced by other magnetic fields, e.g., current-carrying wires.No. I assume you mean a magnetic compass. If a magnetic compass needle is placed in a magnetic Field , its needle deflects and points in the north and south directions
