No because the Moon does not have a magnetic field like the Earth does. The Earth's magnetic field appears to be created by a liquid metalic out core circulating around a solid core. This works like a dynamo which creates the magnetic field around the Earth. The Moon lacks a similar core stucture. This is also the reason why the Monn has no atmosphere.
A magnetic compass would not work on the moon, for the moon does not have the magnetic field that the earth has, allowing us to use this device.
No, because moon does not have magnetic force like earth
A magnetic compass does not work on the moon because the moon has no magnetic core to generate the north and south poles like the earth. As a result, there is no pole for the magnetic compass with which to point.
An electric motor, however, works on the moon because the motor generates both magnetic fields necessary to induce force.
The Phases of the moon are Full moon,Waxing Gibbous,Waning Gibbous, Waxing Cresent, Waning Cresent and New Moon.
We landed a man on the moon because of it!
It is impossible to put a toothpaste back into its tube. It is impossible to jump to the moon.
"There is no life on that uninhabited moon."On this block, there are no uninhabited houses.
As long as the solar cells powering the transceiver (transmitter/receiver), that device should work on the moon.
Because the moon has no magnetosphere - compasses are based on magnetic energy. == ==
It would be more beneficial to have a star chart than a compass because a compass only works on earth. The compass uses the magnetic field that is generated by the north side of the earth. On the moon, there is no strong magnetic field on the north side, making a compass useless in finding your way back.
It's not similar to a master key..but a "magnetic compass"
It would Align itself with the earth's megnetic field if the moon's core is solid (no one knows whats a few feet below the surface of the moon, we know alomost nothing about the moon), or if the moon's intearar is liguid then it most likely has a magnetic field and the compass would Align with that.
The moon does not have a magnetic field, so a compass would not point in any particular direction, unless it was being used close to a rock or minieral that was naturally magnetic. According to Nineplanets.org, the moon may have had a magnetic field at some time in the distant past, but no longer. For more info, try http://www.nineplanets.org/luna.htmlAnswer Since the Moon has nearly no magnetic field, it wouldn't be much good at all.
ill give u the answer since i use wiki answers myself for tests and stuff *guilty* :)A mri is a electromagnetB compass is a permanent magnetC the moon is not magneticA.S apex :)
The Moon has a solid core, and therefore has no magnetic field or poles.
The moon does not have a dipolar magnetic field and its external magnetic field is quite weak when compared to that of the Earth.
Moon rocks are very similar to earth rocks an they are not intrinsically magnetic.
its a compass of course! that can be used to map out the sun, moon and other types of planets
The duration of Electric Moon is 1.71 hours.
The G Shock Mudman 9300 watch has many features. The watch has thermosensors and a compass. In addition, it comes with a moon phase display and a declination adjustor to make the compass point toward true north instead of magnetic north.
