There is no way to get a spacecraft from Earth orbit to Mars, or to establish an orbit around mars, without some form of propulsion being used.

However, the Russian scientist Konstantin Tsiolkovsky proposed, back in 1924, that the pressure of sunlight on an object in space could be used to propel a spacecraft. (See link.) In 1960, science fiction great Arthur C. Clarke wrote a story in Boy's Life magazine about a race from Earth orbit to the Moon using solar sailboats.

So it might be possible to fly a spacecraft from Earth to Mars using a solar sailer, but it would probably not be possible to get into orbit without using rocket engines once you get there.
