If you're driving at 70 miles an hour AND you go in a straight line,
AND you never stop, you can make it in just a little over 151 years.
If you're traveling at the speed of light, it takes a little over 8 minutes.

∙ 13y agoLight takes about 8 minutes to travel from Earth to the sun. The sun is about 93 million miles away, so it would take about 177 years to get to the sun in a car traveling at 60 miles per hour, and about 21.5 years to get to the sun in an airplane traveling at 500 miles per hour. (These are just comparisons; cars and airplanes don't travel in outer space.)

∙ 11y agoWell, that is a good question. I think that from the Sun's light to shine to the Earth would be about 8 minutes and 20 seconds. To find that out, i did:
- The first number to know is the speed of light in a vacuum, which is 300,000 km/s
- Next, you need to know the average distance from the Sun to the Earth, which is 150 million km.
- Divide the distance by the speed of light and you have 500 seconds for light to arrive on Earth.
- Finally, divide 500 seconds by 60 to get the number of minutes and you have 8 minutes and 20 seconds.

∙ 14y agoAt light speed it would take about 8 minutes. The Space Shuttle travels at about 30,000 kilometres per hour, and would be able to do the trip in no less than 7 months.

∙ 12y agoThe Earth is 93 million miles from the Sun. At the speed of light, which is 186 thousand miles per second, light takes 500 seconds, or about 8 and a third minutes to reach Earth from the Sun.

It would take 65 years 11 months to travel to Aldebaran from Earth traversing at the speed of light.
long time compare to earth
more than a lifetime
That depends on your speed. Even at the speed of light it would take you about 8 minutes 20 seconds.

Well the earth cannot travel around the world being as they are the same thing. However, if you meant how long does it take the earth to travel around the sun then the answer would be about 365.25 days.
around two years
long time compare to earth
It would take about 22.5 minutes.

It took Apollo 11 three days to travel from Earth to the moon.
Sunlight takes 8.4 minutes to travel 93 million miles to Earth. It would take us that long to reach the Sun at light speed.
