After the Big Bang, when dust and certain elements such as hydrogen combined into diffrent forms of matter, clumps of this matter started pulling smaller elements in, causing a slow and gradual increase of size and mass. Eventually, the Stars were born as nuclear reactions within the sun started making the outer (and essentially inner) part of the sun to heat up, using hydrogen as its fuel source. The moon however, remains a mystery. Before, scientists have accepted the theory that a large chunk of material collided into the early Earth and broke off a chunk, thus the moon, but since now, Scientists have found water existing in the moon, such theory would be impossible for the heat would have evaporated any water.

Is the moon higher than the stars?

No, the moon is closer to Earth than the stars. The stars we see in the night sky are typically much farther away than the moon.

How many stars orbit the moon?

None. Stars do not orbit the moon. They are murch farther away and much larger than the moon is.

Can you see the moon and the stars at the same time?

Yes, it is possible to see the moon and the stars at the same time in the sky. The moon is often bright and can outshine the fainter stars, but on clear nights with a waxing or waning moon, you can still see some of the brighter stars in the sky.

Why are stars not as bright as the moon?

The stars are in fact brighter than the moon as many distant stars produce their own light (just like our sun) and the moon only reflects sunlight. However, since many of these stars are so far away and the moon is relatively close to the Earth the Full moon appears to be brighter.

What came first the sun the moon or the stars?

Around 400 million years after the Big Bang, the first stars were formed, comprising of nothing but hydrogen and helium. No other elements existed (apart from small amounts of lithium). These stars created the first 26 elements up to iron via nucleosynthesis in the stars core, and due to the size of the stars, much more massive than stars today, they would explode in a supernova, creating all elements heavier than iron. So the star came first. Our Sun is a second but more than likely third generation star based on the metallicity of it's elements (i.e those metals created in earlier supernova explosions) So the Sun came second. Based around the Sun's initial creation, interstellar medium would collect around it and via accretion, coalesce to form the planets. During the formation of these planets a Mars sized planet collided with Earth ejecting enough material to form the Moon. So the Moon is third or last. ---------------------------------- Personally, I feel that the Stars came first as they are the main component of the Universe. (Although theoritcally, stars are suns from other galaxy's so the sun and stars is a chicken and egg situation) Then the sun hence the centre of a galaxy and finally the moon as it is the 'satellite' of the earth.

What came first the moon or the earth or the stars?

The Stars The Earth came third and moon came second Actually, yes the stars did come first, since matter had combined from the big bang, but the Earth and Moon are tied, since no one knows how the moon formed, we cannot assume what time they appeared.

Did they have light in Medieval Times?

Certainly. Their light came from the sun, the moon, the stars, and from fire.

Why does the moon seem so big compared to the stars?
