It's quite likely that space rocks strike the planet Venus fairly frequently, but it would have to be a pretty big rock for us to see the impact from here! However, it's unlikely that any meteorites could reach the surface; not only is the atmosphere much thicker than ours (which would cause much more friction and compressive heating), but the atmosphere is thick with sulfuric acid.

We do know that space rocks strike the Moon fairly frequently; since the Moon is so close, it experiences the same meteor showers that the Earth does. Since there's no atmosphere on the Moon, space rocks just hit it. NASA has a video of HUNDREDS of small explosions on the Moon caused by space rock impacts.

And we know that rocks hit Mars as well; our rovers have discovered rocks on the surface of Mars that don't appear to belong there.

Jupiter; we all know what happened when the Shoemaker-Levy 9 comet broke up and hit Jupiter like a series of nuclear bombs.

Saturn: NASA has a photo of a line of debris caused by a stray rock passing through the rings of Saturn.

We haven't positively identified any rocks striking Uranus or Neptune, but we can be certain that it happens.

Do you need telescopes to see meteorite showers?

No. Meteorite showers make colored lines in the sky as they burn up in the atmosphere. You can see them with the naked eye but it is easier if you are far away from cities so the sky is darker.

What are meteorites showers named after?

Meteorite showers, or meteor showers, are typically named after the constellation or the specific star from which they appear to originate in the night sky. For example, the Perseids are named after the constellation Perseus, while the Geminids are associated with Gemini. This naming convention reflects the radiant point of the shower, which is the location in the sky where the meteors seem to emanate.

Are meteor showers safe?

Yes! there is only one confirmed case of a human being that was hit by a meteorite (she lived and only received a bruised leg). There are certain legends around the world depicting mass murder by meteorite, but that's all that I would call them. Legends. Don't get me wrong, they are potentially Very dangerous, but the chances are just not on the side of lethality. Furthermore, the meteors you see in meteor showers are too small to reach the ground.

Is a meteorite a mineral?

No. A meteorite is a rock.

Is it possible to stop a meteorite?

You can't stop meteor showers. They are naturally occuring events. As Earth goes through space, it encounters all sorts of dirt and debris which then enter our atmosphere and burn up in an instant. So it is impossible to stop them. It would be like trying to stop wind or rain or tides. Meteor showers are spectacular to watch, so nobody would want to stop them. There are very few meteors that pose any dangers to Earth.
