The amount of daylight in a "24-hour" day actually varies due to a combination of the Earth's elliptical orbit around the sun and the tilt of the Earth's axis. The further north or south you are from the equator, the more variation you will see in the amount of sunlight you get in the winter and summer. For example, the year 2009 in Nome, Alaska (165 degrees West, 64 degrees North) there were 3 hours 53 minutes of daylight on December 21 and on and June 21, 21 hours 30 minutes of daylight; a difference of nearly 18 hours . Miami, Florida (80 degrees West, 25 degrees North) on those same days had 10 hours 32 minutes and 13 hours 43 minutes respectively; a difference of only about 3 hours.
We don't know. The odds of us being the only living life forms in space are 1/1,000,000. Alone there is 400 billion stars (That they know of) in the Milky Way, and has probaly thousands (or more) solar systems- that have who knows how many planets. Space is like numbers, they NEVER end so saying were alone is... pretty much impossible. For sure there is OVER 50 Billion Galaxys that has BILLIONS- or more- stars. Besides there has been Many sightings and abductions over the years. There is many theories/evidence of other life but we'll have to find out in the future. Other Interesting things that have to do with aliens are: The Nazca Lines - Unsolved Nome Abductions UFO sightings The Fourth Kind - Movie Strange encounters of the Third Kind - Movie Apollo 17 - Movie Coming Soon ... The Mayan Indians - Unsolved Ect. If you like space you can go APOD -- Astronomy Picture Of the Day -- and see pictures and read facts about space. But in the end what you choose to belive is your to decide.
