I don't know if you want to call it cheaper, but yes, in 2011 the shuttles will be retired and replaced by the Ares I and V. (1&5).
Christa Mcauliffe, who did not survive the trip- killed when the Challenger exploded on the way up. She was the first American woman to lose her life in a spacecraft accident- which strictly speaking, did not happen in space- but inside the atmosphere. There were two females also on the Columbia crew- another All-Hands fatal incident, which broke up on re-entry. Mrs. Mcauliffe was a social studies teacher- apart from NASA- not a Biologist which might have been a better choice.
Astronauts ride rockets. The space shuttle has a huge liquid fuel booster, along side which two solid rocket motors are attached. This entire assembly blasts off, consuming almost all the fuel. Only a little bit is left in the shuttle itself for deorbit burns and attitude control. Cosmonauts--russian astronauts--boost into space in their Soyuz spacecraft, which is attached to the top of a big rocket. Chinese astronauts are called "taikonauts," which is probably a better word than either astronaut or cosmonaut. Taikonaut could be translated "space sailor," whereas "astro" means "star." Astronauts do not travel between the stars, yet.
The next shuttle to launch is Discovery, flying mission STS-133.The final missions scheduled for the space shuttle program are:- Endeavor on STS-134, slated for launch 27 February 2011- Atlantis on STS-135, slated for launch no earlier than 28 June 2011, but funding is pending the passage of an appropriations bill.What_is_the_next_of_the_shuttle_that_is_flying_in_the_next_missionKennedy Space Center are opening the NASA causeway so the launch can be viewed from the 6 mile point. For those that need to see the launch it is unbelievable to view it from the NASA Causeway definitely the best place. After NASA sell out of tickets (they always do) there are 2 companies that sell tour package to the NASA causeway and they have affiliates that resell their products. Take a look at www.spaceshuttlelaunchtours.com as they price match guarantee and it seems to be the same tour product that everyone has but slightly better prices.Good luck - hope you make it out to see it!
You had better travel near the speed of light or you will not see much of the universe. Unfortunately travelling near the speed is not yet possible, so you are out of luck.
It is possible to see a space shuttle launch from Miami, which is about 200 miles away from the Kennedy Space Center in Cape Canaveral. However, visibility may depend on weather conditions and the specific trajectory of the launch.
The Space Shuttle is better than previous spacecraft because of the fact that it is reusable. NASA doesn't need to build a new shuttle every time they need to do a mission, they can just do nessasary maitenence and launch it again. Past spacecraft would do the mission, then land in the ocean, and never be used again. The shuttle will land like an airplane, so it isn't destroyed on impact, and it will be used again.
This is because we have better technology today that makes our spacecrafts more versatile. Also, our earlier trips to space have given us better understanding of how to improve in space.
The flying shuttle loom is rarely used today. It was an inefficient design, and was replaced (for the most part) by better, later designs. It may still be used for some special purpose looms, and old looms may still be operated for historical displays.

An electronic is cheaper, I guess. But I do think an acoustic sounds better.
A psp is better but a nds is cheaper
In many times it is cheaper, but in every time it is better
"I personally like Orbitz better, I think it yields better results. Travel Zoo is cheaper, but you should go for quality , and not price. Orbitz is better."
