Planets have very different temperatures, and some don't have a surface until you arrive at the planet's interior or core in which case the core is intensely hot similar to the interior of a star. Usually scientists base gas giant's temperature on the atmosphere around it instead.

Here are the temperatures of the 8 major planets:

  1. Mercury's Maximum Temperature 465°C (870°F). Mercury's Minimum Temperature -184°C (-300°F)
  2. Venus' Average Temperature 449°C (850°F)
  3. Earth's Average Temperature 7.2°C (45°F)
  4. Mars's Maximum Temperature 36°C (98°F). Mars's Minimum Temperature -123°C (-190°F)
  5. Jupiter's Average Temperature -153°C (-244°F)
  6. Saturn's Average Temperature -184°C (-300°F)
  7. Uranus' Maximum Temperature -184°C (-300°F)
  8. Neptune's Average Temperature -223°C (-370°F)
