Landed: 1969
The Eagle. "Tranquility Base, the Eagle has landed."
Apollo 11
The Apollo 11 Space astronauts landed on the moon in a space module called "The Eagle". Andrew Rogue (STZ)
It is called the Eagle.
It was called the Eagle, after the Jules Verne novel. From the earth to the moon.
It has to be done in stages you see, first it was the Mercury one man craft, it was sub orbit and then orbiting the earth., the Gemini spacecraft with the first walk in space, then the Apoll7 after the fire a new craft was tried. Apollo 8 first visit by man around the moon. Apollo11 landing on the moon.
The only answer I got was apollo, but it did not state what year that happened. Was there a landing on the moon first without it being manned, and later was there the landing with men on board?

Eagle was the lunar module of Apollo 11 that landed on the moon for the first moon landing. All of the moon landings had a lunar module which could separate from the main craft and land on the moon. It could then take off again and dock with the main craft. The different lunar modules were given different names.

Due to the Moon's gravity
No space shuttle has landed on the moon. The craft would need ample landing space to do so. But even then, the shuttle could not LEAVE the moon, since the boosters needed to lift off would not be present.
As stated in the category, Apollo 11 from the US was the first craft on the moon. Neil Armstrong, accompanied by Buz Aldrin were the first men on the moon.
