First satellite repaired bya space shuttle in outerspace was "Solar Max" and was completed by astronauts George "Pinkey" Nelson and James "Ox" Van Hoften using manned maneuvering units and was performed on April 8 & 11, 1984. This was the first time a satellite was repaired in space.
