If the moon suddenly vanished, since the moon is the creator of tides, all the oceans would come rushing to the side of the earth pointing to the sun. We would have the exact same size of tides occurring at the same time each day. Life would be much different and have to be different because we'd be covered in water for like half a day. Scientists believe the moon is currently getting inches and inches away from the earth each year. I watched a program about it on the discovery channel and this is how I know this. Oh, and we would all die.
That's correct but, if the moon were getting inches and inches away from the earth each year, it would rule out Newton's first law, an object in motion will stay in motion and an object at rest will stay at rest unless acted on by an unbalanced force, because of inertia and gravity the moon doesn't crash into the earth due to the moon's inertia it stays revolving around the earth. Due to the mass of of the earth it has enough gravity to pull the moon toward it. The theory of something that crashed into earth the size of mars and the moon formed, scientist have found reasons to reject this and other theories.
Just thought that should be known.
By someone random: we wouldn't know if it's night or day.
it's the moons orbit that keeps it away from the earth, if it stopped moving it would be pulled in by earth's gravity and crash.
it wouldn't be immediate but it would take a reletively short time to come down, we would also lose Tides and other things that are linked into the moons cycle, but the effect of that much rock hitting the planet would mean that there is unlikely to be any life left to notice a lack of tides.
If there were no moon, we would have dark nights. But even worse we would have no waves. The moon helps stabalize the planet. The gravitational pull forms waves and helps to keep the planet from spinning to fast and going out of orbit.
If the moon stopped then it would be unable to stay in orbit and it would come down to the Earth. The hit would be cataclysmic and almost certainly destroy all large life. Stuff like bacteria might survive
It would immediately cease its orbiting of the Earth and sail off in a straight line,
never to be seen again.
The Earth would do the same and leave its orbit around the sun.
All orbiting of everything around everything would stop, since gravity is the origin
of the forces that are responsible for closed orbits.
Another amusing factoid concerning the result of the disappearance of gravity:
After some short while, the sun, and every other star, would kind of just expand,
go dark, and drift away like a puff of smoke, since gravity is the only thing that
holds the stars together, and maintains the pressure and temperature in their
cores that makes nuclear fusion possible.
First, one would need to investigate HOW the Moon came to disappear. We do not, generally, accept the notion of "magic", and the last major miracles were many centuries ago. Both of these concepts would need to be reconsidered.
What would happen to the EARTH if the Moon vanished? Nothing much, although the daily tidal fluctuations would be substantially diminished, probably causing devastating impacts on the oxygen flow in the seas. We'd probably all die.
In short, global disasters of biblical proportions. The moon not only controls the tides of the words oceans but it also stabilizes the earths axis. Our planet would swing wildly from cold to unbearably hot climates.
Some scientists also speculate that the moons pull regulates the earths core temperature and with that it could dramatically swing earths ability to support any life at all.
Earth has a very symbiotic relationship with the moon, they each need each other to survive.
It would on average be a little darker at night, and the tides would be smaller (by about
half, or, in other words, all tides would be about as high/low as neap tides currently are)
and occur at approximately the same times every day: High tides would be around noon
and midnight, and low tides would be around sunrise and sunset.
Nothing really spectacular, in other words.
If the moon would do disappear we wouldn't have Waves erotions and it will be super dark because the moon is bright and light up the night because of the sun but stars are not that bright so it will be dark at night (so if your afraid of the dark your tanks be afraid badly)
Well, pieces of the moon would probably hit the Earth causing chaos. Everyone would be in danger and the death toll would be sky high.
The moon will disappear when it is in the new moon phase, as ironic as that sounds.
If you were on the moon your weight would lower, as there is no gravity.
If th sun's gravity were to disappear, Earth would go off in a straight line into interstellar space.
@@@@@@@ Njj
Nothing would happen if the moon was on the left and the sun on the right. The moon and sun are often on different sides of the earth.
photosynthesis would stop, temperature will drop to zero, ocean surfaces would freeze, extinction human etc
The moon will disappear when it is in the new moon phase, as ironic as that sounds.
You mom will disappear
Your blood and your organs would probably fall out.
then there would be no moon
If you were on the moon your weight would lower, as there is no gravity.
the world would disappear
all the animal would die
You would see the moon.
no
If th sun's gravity were to disappear, Earth would go off in a straight line into interstellar space.
Thr body's mass would not change, but its weight would suddenly disappear.
