The Sun is actually standing still, so to speak. The Earth is rotating around it. But if the Earth were to stay still, then it would always be day on one side and night on the other. Plus, the plants and animals on the night side might die out.
we would die
If the earth got pulled in closer to the sun, or if the sun expands significantly, then the earth will get much warmer. That said, nothing like that is going to happen for a couple billion years yet.
we would probably die
It would get bigger
stars
No. This is a myth - that scientists found this, not the fact that it did. In any case, this would only be an appearance anyway as it would have to be the earth itself standing still and not the sun for the sun to 'appear' to stand still.
Not all ancient people think that the sun stood still, because if it does, it will be recorder in their Astronomical history. It's only the believer of the Christian Bible that believe it stood still once, not yearly and was written in Joshua 10:12-13.
No
It was Joshua that pray for the sun to stand still
If the moon were to be destroyed there would still be tides. This would be because of the sun still being in assistance and affecting the tides.
The idea of the sun standing still comes from a story in the Bible where, during a battle, the sun was said to have stood still in the sky. This event is not scientifically supported and is considered more of a metaphor or legend than a literal occurrence.
it will be same you will be able to see moon , you cant see moon from earth in day because the shine/light of sun is more than moon. hope i helped u !
A:No. This occurs only in the Book of Joshua.
Nothing. It was still there the last time I looked.
Then there would be no nice full moons. The tides would also be quite a bit weaker (we would still have tides due to the Sun's gravity).
The sun would win.
It would melt.
