Yuri Gagarin was launched from Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan, USSR on
April 12, 1961. He made almost but not quite one complete orbit of the earth,
and landed 108 minutes after launch. He never went to space again, and was
killed in March 1968 in the crash of a MiG 15 training jet.
