Well, friend, sometimes things in the universe change over time. Mars lost its atmosphere likely because it lost its magnetic field long ago, which made it easier for solar winds to strip away the atmosphere. We shouldn't worry too much about Mars though, it's just nature at work creating something beautifully serene.
