The rings are made up of small debree and therefor are on a tight close orbit around the planet. The large moons are the opposite because they are large and therefor on a much further out orbit. The sun has a gravitational pull on all things in our solar system and its pull is much larger on the moon and it keeps it further away from the sun.

What planet has ten moon?

Uranus is the planet that has ten moons. The moons lie closer to the planet's surface than any other planet.

What type of planet would have the most moons?

A gas giant planet is likely to have the most moons due to its size and gravitational influence, which can capture and retain a large number of moons in orbit around it. For example, Saturn and Jupiter in our own solar system have a significant number of moons.

Which terrestrial planet has the most moons?

Jupiter =] Jupiter is incorrect. It is considered a Gas Giant not a terrestrial planet. The answer is Mars with it's two known moons.

What is the biggest planet and has four moons?

The biggest planet is Jupiter. It has the 4, large Galilean moons but also other smaller moons.

Which planet do have 27 moons?

The larger planets have much greater gravity than the inner planets, and large and complex moon systems have developed. Uranus has 5 large moons in regular orbits and 13 smaller ones closer to the planet, some involved with the tenuous rings around the planet. The 9 known outer moons are thought to be captured asteroids. They circle at from 5 to 20 million kilometers from the planet and all but one have retrograde orbits (the reverse direction from the larger moons and from the planet's rotation).

Which planet do most of the large moons revolves around?

Both Jupiter and Saturn have a large amount of moons, some of them quite large.

Which planet has 5 large moons and 10 small moons?

That planet would be: Saturn. Please send me a trust point!

What planet has the most rings and the second most moons of any Gas Giant?

Saturn

Would the planet Saturn sustain life?

Maybe one of its orbiting moons could, but the planet itself is a gas giant. No.

Name Venus' largest moon?

No Venus is a planet, much like our Earth, because it orbits the Sun. A moon is a large body that orbits a planet. Venus is closer to the Sun than the Earth, the second planet from the Sun. The Earth is the third planet from the Sun.

Which planet has the most number of moons?

In our solar system, the planet Jupiter has the most (63) confirmed moons, though that # may go up in the future after closer observations of Jupiter.
