Roberto Serrano Jr., nicknamed Butch, is a Filipino indie author, journalist, editor in chief and former civil servant. He wrote the book "The Politics of Charter Change." He was a writer for the Philippines Free Press and other notable publications. He served government as a young foreign service officer and later joined the staff of Senator Blas F. Ople. He was appointed Committee Secretary of the Philippine Senate in 1998, one of the youngest to have held the position. He was also a speechwriter to many senators and one presidential aspirant. He lives in Paranaque City, Philippines.
