Safety-wise, new cars put old cars to shame. Completely the opposite when talking about style and innovation. Anyways, here are a list of safety mechanisms that are non-existent in older cars (older meaning 1970 and older).
Safe Innovations:
-Airbags of all types -Three point restraint seatbelts (Invented by Volvo) -Traction control systems -Limit slip differentials -Power brakes -Anti-locking brakes -Halogen and xenon headlight bulbs -Layered windshields -Headlight wipers -Windshield wipers that actually work well -Crumpling impact zones -Box frames and structural roll cages -Fire retardant fabrics.
Truly the only advantage that an old car has in a collision is it's sheer weight and pure steel construction. Otherwise, they seem like deathtraps compared to modern cars.
Airbags and seat belts
Yes, cars have lots of safety features but motorcycles don't.
TCS, ABS, and STC
Cars should have doors and seat belts for safety features. Other safety features include: airbags, safety locks and anti-lock brakes.
The 1950 Ford cars did not have many safety features, like we do today, in place. The cars and trucks did have safety belts.
Airbags
There are so many ways to compare cars and what is best for a family may not be what is best for a retired couple. Try the comparison sites, they allow you to compare cars which fit in with your lifestyle.
safety
Since the cars are rigorously tested, the engineers produced cars with exceptional quality like safety features when in a crash and added horse power for speed. They also offer nice millage per gallon of gas and lifetime warranted.
No. However, cars have plenty of safety features also drivers of cars have lots of more protection than motorcycles. Motorcycles do not have safety features, just only helmets but however that motorcycles can really easily fall over but not cars. Cars can't fall over.

Basically, newer cars go faster than older cars which increases the likeliness of accidents occuring. Newer cars have more airbags than older cars. And some older cars do not have them at all. Older cars may not have features such as crumple zones which protect the front of the car better. Seatbelts is also an issue, older cars may just have lap belts, or none at all. Hope this helps a bit. x
