How do you erase music from your iPod Nano?

1. Plug your iPod into a computer that has iTunes installed. (You can download it from www.apple.com if you don't already have it on your computer.)

2. When your iPod is recognized, it will pop up in the sidear of iTunes. Click on "Music" under your iPod and then find the songs you wish to delete.

3. Simply click on the song, then press "delete" on your keyboard.

4. Choose to place the song in your Recycle Bin (to delete it permanetly) or "Keep in iTunes" (to delete from your iPod, but not the iTunes program).

You cannot erase music directly from your iPod Nano. You must plug it in to your computer, open up iTunes (Note: The following information has only been verified for iTunes version 8.0 and later), and wait for iTunes to show a bar with your iPod's name in the vertical bar to the left in iTunes. After plugging the iPod in, there should be three submenu under your iPod's name, and click on 'Music'. Find the music you want to delete, and right mouse click on it (or hold Ctrl+Click), and click on 'delete'. It will ask you whether you want to remove the song from your iPod or not, and click 'yes' or 'remove'. You have to delete music from an iPod through iTunes.

Plug your iPod into your computer/laptop using the USB cable. Open iTunes and your iPod will appear on the left hand side menu. When you click on it, it'll show you the music that's currently on your iPod. Click on a song and press the delete key on your keyboard or right-click on it and press 'delete'.

Once you've deleted the songs you no longer want, click on 'sync' before removing your iPod from your computer.
