Cydia and blackra1n only damages your ipod if you jailbreak it incorrectly. There are plenty of youtube videos explaining how to jailbreak. I have jailbroken mine have had no problems. And YES jailbreaking is worth it because u can edit basically everything to do with themes and you can edit sounds and best of all... FREE APPS

Don't worry you can restore your iPod if it stuffs up. Believe me I've stuffed mine up once and fixed it. Itunes recognises your iPod and you can still use your normal applications and download from the app store. If you jailbreak i would recommend redsnow depending on if it is Gen 1 or 2 or 3. Currently you can't jailbreak Gen 3 but 1&2 are available, mine is 2. No limit to how much you download to your iPod, just the normal space that ur iPod has. After jailbreaking you will get an app called icey or cydia(i use cydia). Use that and go into ur wifi and ur done. Instant access to free apps. There's a catch. From there you need to download applous/installous from hackolous. Search it in the cydia store on ur iPod. After you download that you get all full apps for free that you find on the app store. NO LITE APPS. Who needs them when you have full apps. U can get the lite apps from the normal app store for free. Depending on your country, internet, wifi speed. It will affect your free full app download rate. If you live in the us, it should be as fast as the app store.
