an easy way to stop the playback to your headphones is to just mute the recording track. this is possible depending on what program your using.
If you are on the channel that is being recorded, just change the channel and a message will pop up asking if you want to stop the recording - select Yes. You can go into the timer for the recording and stop it that way also by selecting Stop Recording.
Click The Right Button And It Should Come Up And Click Stop Recording

It depends upon the receiver model you have. If you are recording a program, you can look at your recordings, fine the program you are recording, select it, and you should get different options about that recording. If you need further assistance, please let me know. Thanks.
No.
Pausing recording temporarily halts the recording process without ending it, allowing you to resume recording later from where you left off. Stopping recording ends the recording process entirely, creating a complete recording file that cannot be appended to.
Tivo from DirecTV does this. I think the regular Tivo can do this as well.
