This method may vary greatly depending on the device you are using to play the CD.

Insert the CD into the disk slot/tray, with many devices, the CD will begin playing automatically. Check to make sure the volume is turned on to an audible level or, if you are using head phones, that they are plugged in fully. If the CD has not started, or isn't playing, press the "Play" button. If the issue persists, there may be a problem with the device.

When a CD is "burned" or created, an intense laser burns microscopic scratches into the CD.

When the CD is "read" later, it is with a less intense laser. The little lens in the CD player shoots this laser up into the CD, and the microscopic scratches refract the laser in different ways. Then, the laser is reflected back to the lens, where there are little sensors which read the way the laser was refracted and turn it into information which you and I can use.

Can a CD player can be converted to DVD player. Or else what best we can do with CD player?

Although CD players and DVD players share the same disc transport system, the laser and virtually all the electronics are different. A CD player cannot read DVDs although most DVD players will read and play CDs without a problem. So, a CD player will always be a CD player and never a DVD player. The best thing to use a CD player for is to play CDs or, if it happens to be able to read and display images from a CD, then perhaps you can use it for picture viewing.

Can you birn a mp3 into a regular CD?

Yes, you can put MP3 files on a CD, but the computer will only be able to read them, not a CD player or DVD player. You would be better off by putting those files onto a program that allows you to burn CD's such as iTunes or Windows Media Player, and add them to your library and then burn them onto the CD that way, so your CD player will be able to read the format.

Why does your CD player in your 2004 Cavalier just eject the CD's and show an err message?

If this is in reference to burned CD's, it is an incompatibility issue with the burned disk and the CD player. If the error occurs when the disk is a manufactured standard music CD disk in good condition, there is likely a mechanical issue with the laser read arm, or the laser itself is malfunctioning. The most common cause for that is debris on the laser lens. The CD player is struggling to read the total play time of the CD and count the number of tracks. Sort of like compiling the play list. Try burning the CD at a slower speed, which makes the data easier to read for older CD players. Also, while the CD player is attempting to read the burned disk (right after you put it in), try pressing the Next Song arrow button as if you are skipping forward a few songs. Sometimes this will help the CD player determine how many songs are on the disk and it will start playing. Once the CD player has started playing successfully, you should not have an issue with the disk when starting the vehicle or powering the CD player on and off. However, if you remove the disk the memory is wiped and the process must be repeated.
