The Ipod Touch 2nd Gen. has a built-in speaker where the 1st Ipod Touch does not have the speaker. For Shazam to work you will have to buy a mic to plug into it to record the sound. You can call the Apple store at 800-MY-APPLE and find out for yourself if you like.
