My guess is an audio interface. I recommend the PreSonus Firepod Interface. It has 8 inputs, each with a volume control, a headphone volume control, a main audio out volume control, and it's only $400, you won't find an interface that good for any cheaper. Also, get some good mics. Just sayin'. For vocals and Guitars, Audio Technica at2020.

A "digital audio workstation" - software that mimics recording consoles and allows for composition, recording and audio manipulation and engineering
To record yourself singing different parts of a song, you can use a digital audio workstation (DAW) like Audacity, GarageBand, or FL Studio. Start by recording the first part, then create a new track for each subsequent part you want to sing. After recording all the parts, you can edit and arrange them in the DAW, adjusting levels and adding effects as needed before exporting the final mix. Make sure to use headphones while recording to avoid bleed from the backing track into your vocals.
A modern commercial studio has many components. Some use tape for recording, some use computers. You could set up a home studio for a couple of hundred dollars, or spend millions recreating Abbey Road. You'll need a recording device and microphones to start.
To input a MIDI track, you can use a MIDI controller, such as a keyboard or drum pad, which allows for real-time performance and recording. Alternatively, you can enter MIDI data manually using a digital audio workstation (DAW) by utilizing a MIDI editor or piano roll interface. Additionally, you can connect MIDI instruments directly to your DAW via USB or MIDI cables for recording.
To use the Casio CT-650 for MIDI recording, connect the keyboard to your computer or MIDI interface using a USB or MIDI cable. Ensure that the necessary drivers are installed and that your digital audio workstation (DAW) recognizes the keyboard. Set the CT-650 to MIDI mode, select the desired sound or instrument, and then arm a track for recording in your DAW. Once ready, play the keyboard, and your performance will be captured as MIDI data for further editing and arrangement.

"If you have got a sound card in your computer you can easily start a recording studio." To build a recording studio you first need either land or a commercial space or an area of your residential structure that you can give up for this purpose. So the correct answer should more be "in order to build a recording studio you need lots of working capital". Each computer comes with a sound card, and that in and of itself does not a recording studio make.
