She loved those people and tried everything to make it all a secret. But this unknown assh*le came up and heard about the secret somehow, told the Nazis and they came to the house to get these families and took them immediately to the concentration camp. It was contrary to Victor Kugler's nature to be "warm" - he was straightforward, and rarely smiled, but Miep Gies called him one of the "fairest" men she had ever worked for.
