Because she wanted to help the Frank family and the other families that were with them in the "achterhuis".

She loved those people and tried everything to make it all a secret. But this unknown assh*le came up and heard about the secret somehow, told the Nazis and they came to the house to get these families and took them immediately to the concentration camp. It was a disaster. I've seen the movie and it explains it all, it shows you how everything went. >_<

What do you think about Mr Kugler in Anne Frank diary?

It was contrary to Victor Kugler's nature to be "warm" - he was straightforward, and rarely smiled, but Miep Gies called him one of the "fairest" men she had ever worked for. He personally felt the most responsibility to those in hiding, and remained very loyal to Otto Frank during the time he was, in effect, running the whole business.
