That's a toughy. Without an author or title, it may be possible that such a book doesn't exist.
But if you have some idea as to "what the book is about"... the internet has an amazing function called "search engines" that can dig up some great results with a mere "search word" or description of the alleged book.
But it can also be aggravating if the search word or description isn't specific enough.
Amazon might be a good place to begin searching for the book. Just be prepared to "refine" your search as you go [add words to the search or remove unnecessary ones]. Hopefully, this will reveal your book, which might be hiding somewhere among your search results. Be ready for a number of possible book choices to pop up and sift through.

You would need to refer to a literary resource book, such as "The Writer's Market" or "Literary Market Place," to find information on authors. These books typically contain details on authors' contact information, publishing history, and representation.
