A writer is someone who writes - Period Full Stop End of Sentence.

I became a writer at age 3 when I wrote about a "silly silly mouse."

Now if you want to become a GOOD writer - that takes practice. Everybody needs a different amount of time to become the best writer they can be - and even published writers constantly learn new techniques.

The best way to start becoming a writer is to get started. Write something and send it off to a publisher or magazine (or whatever); write something else while you wait to hear back from that one, and send the second thing off; rinse and repeat until you make a sale.

They are published monthly so you figure it out. generally there is a sort of division of labor- different artists or writers for Plot, ( usually called story), colors, inks, different characters for example- still, something akin to short-order publishing they are published on monthly timetables. This differs radically from free-lance writing where one writes an article- and may wait months for it to make the print scene. to get around the obsolescence problem,. one uses broad chronology and avoids ( last night,) immediate-action themes. one also tends to avoid direct politics- a saturated vapor cloud!
