Dehydration
I have now had 2 rather severe reactions to ibuprofen and for future reference want to have the name of the ingrediant that causes the facial swelling should I need to be admitted to a hospital.
What causes your lips to swell and go numb
tongue swelling
Facial swelling is not typically a direct result of dehydration; rather, dehydration can lead to a reduction in overall fluid balance and may cause the body to retain water in some areas, potentially leading to puffiness. However, other factors such as inflammation, allergies, or medical conditions are more common causes of facial swelling. If swelling occurs alongside dehydration, it may be worth consulting a healthcare professional to determine the underlying cause.

Yes, oxygen therapy can potentially cause facial swelling, although it is not a common side effect. Swelling may occur due to allergic reactions, irritation from the delivery device, or other underlying conditions exacerbated by oxygen use. If facial swelling occurs, it's important to consult a healthcare professional to determine the cause and appropriate action.
I don't think that such a phenomenon actually happens. It is possible that some things could cause both symptoms, but the tongue swelling is almost certainly not a product of the confusion.
