The wife starts off wanting the cat and when she finds i missing she starts to look for other things that she's not happy with. The darker it gets outside the more upset she becomes:

- She complains that her hair's too short, looks out the window and is getting dark.

- says she wants it to be spring, have long hair, have candles etc., it's even darker out.

- than at the end the light in the square goes on and she gets the cat.
