Anne of Cleves (there's no apostrophe) wasn't "divorced", technically. Her marriage to Henry VIII was annulled on 9 July 1540. Henry wasn't attracted to her (he was reportedly disappointed in her appearance when they first met) and the marriage was never consummated, so Henry had it annulled and Anne didn't contest the annulment.

Henry seems to have liked her well enough ... he often invited her to court afterward, and she was referred to as "the King's Beloved Sister."

It's hard to judge from paintings, since there's a natural tendency of someone painting a powerful noble to want to flatter them, but one assumes the same tendency in place for Henry's other wives, and she doesn't stand out among them as being particularly ugly (she looks considerably prettier in her portraits than Catherine of Aragon or Jane Seymour do in theirs, for example, and Henry managed to consummate his marriage with both of them). She apparently just "wasn't his type."
