Anne Frank's diary survived because it was hidden by Miep Gies, one of the helpers who supported Anne's family while they were in hiding. After the war, Miep gave the diary to Anne's father, Otto Frank, the sole Survivor of the family. Otto then decided to have his daughter's diary published to share her story with the world.
