I have found the some machanics do a dirty trick in your fuil line they place a fuse now this will let it start but when you give it gas it dies. I know its sad but it works now you get charged for work you did not need GOOD LUCK
Sounds like a pulley may be freezing up. Have a mechanic check the pulleys.
My mechanic (who I trust) replaced my O2 sensor and exhaust manifold and the problem went away.

Mine does that. Also replaced the bearings and nothing happened. Found out my transmission is starting to go, and the mechanic says that's the cause of the noise. Returned to my mechanic. Had him take another look. Turns out the RIGHT wheel bearing was just as bad. Replaced it and problem solved.
It's probably just a loose belt. Try to have a certified mechanic diagnose it.
