There is a small round moulded mark in the plastic directly below the ignition switch. Originally was for a button in early design but was removed from the plan. look very close with a flashlight and you will see the outline. However it still marks where the ignition cylinder has a button that will allow the key to release and you can turn it back to the off position and remove it. If you have a small drill or dremel you can open this fake plug and reveal the button. I used a dremel to open it up big enough to put my finger in and press the button. I use it every day .... until I decide to spend the money and buy a new ignition switch.
My 2002 GMC Envoy won't start,no lights come on when trying to jump start the battery. And my key won't remove from the ignition. What's should i do?
My envoy did this also when the battery died. installed new battery and key came out.
Check the starter.
To change the spark plugs in a GMC Envoy, first ensure the engine is cool and disconnect the negative battery cable. Remove the ignition coil by unscrewing the bolts and gently pulling it off the spark plug. Use a spark plug socket and ratchet to unscrew the old spark plug, then install the new one by hand to avoid cross-threading, followed by tightening it with a torque wrench to the manufacturer's specifications. Finally, reattach the ignition coil and reconnect the battery cable.
Unplug the battery then start dismantling the steer wheel. The airbag will not deploy if the batt. disconnected. You need a GMC coin remover, I have one I will sell for $60.

On a 2004 GMC Envoy, the oil pressure sensor is typically located on the engine block, near the oil filter. It can be found on the driver's side, positioned towards the rear of the engine. To access it, you may need to remove some components or use a socket wrench to reach it effectively. Always ensure the engine is cool and the battery is disconnected before attempting any repairs.
From what I have been reading, it is a faulty ignition switch. Looks like it has happened to several people too. It can also be the alternator is defective.
The idle air control (IAC) valve on a 2005 GMC Envoy is located on the throttle body, which is mounted on the intake manifold. To access it, you'll need to remove the air intake duct and possibly other components that obstruct the view. The IAC valve is typically attached with screws and has an electrical connector. If you're planning to replace or inspect it, ensure the engine is cool and the battery is disconnected for safety.
