make sure that the tires are all properly inflated. If they are, then you may need to have the front end aligned.
Check the tires for cupping. If you have had an alignment problem the tires could be cupping and will make quite a lot of noise. It could also be a wheel bearing.
Check your tires. They may have a flat spot some where. you may need tires. or tires may need to be balance.
Hey Bob==Ever since 1982 tires have had a tendency to cup and I really don't know of what causes it. I have heard all kinds of diagnoises but none that I find are true. Some brands of tires are worse about cupping than others. I think the manufacturers changed the rubber compound formula but I can't get any one to admit to that. Rotate the tires every 7ooo miles and make sure they are balanced is all I can say. GoodluckJoe
37000 original miles
Silverado 1500 gets 16/21
I would go and get the tires balanced, FIRST. You could have front end parts worn too. Check and replace as needed.
33,000 miles!
I have had a 1996 Chevy Silverado for 5 yrs. 200k+ miles and I am getting about 13 miles per gallon.
10-14 mpg is what my silverado gets
This depends somewhat on the tire, but you should get 40000+ miles even from cheap tires.
You should really rotate your tires every oil change to guarantee full even wearing on the tires but at least every 5000 miles or so
My 1994 Chevy Silverado ext cab with stock tires is getting 14 miles per gallon the only mods it has is a k&N drop in filter and 2 3/4 exhaust with a highflow cat and muffler..
