Solid state components resist in one direction and conduct better in the other direction.
You have fried some transistors and chips.
The starter and solenoid system handles more current than solid state electronics can handle. It's a simple system of coils and relays. It is not polarized and does not care about negative and positive. It hasn't changed since 1905.
You have shorted out a lot of electroncs. If you're lucky then fuses blew when the current ran backwards. There are lot of microprocessors to replace.
Sorry.
Check the fuses. By hooking it up backwards, you may have blown many fuses, and/or completely damaged the vehicle wiring system, and/or shorted out the starter motor.
The battery is dead - you would need to boost the vehicle in order for it to start , but once you shut the vehicle off it will not start again without boosting or hooking it up to a battery charger
You need to bclear, does it crank or not crank?----for starters.
Does it turn over? Does it have spark? Fuel?
once a battery is connected even if the key is not in the ignition, there is always power at certain points in your car. Connecting a battery backwards will not start your car, but it can and will fry the wires to your starter.
check the battery, check the starter, see if their both good. It's the battery, if all it does is click. The clicking is the starter trying to start but not having enough electricity.
You probably fried all the electronics. Take it to a trusted mechanic to diagnose it.
I would start by checking the alternator yourself or take it and have it checked. If you had'nt had any battery issuses like hooking battery up wrong It is prob. your alternator.
You have some serious problems. Hooking up a battery backwards plays hell with the electronics. If you really want to keep the car you will probably have to replace a lot if not all the electronic control devices that manage your engine.
it could be the started is shorted out because of the battery being connected backwards
buy a pcm
Dead battery? try jumping it off. bad starter solenoid? bad starter?
