you can change it to green, however, the "green" antifreeze will corode your radiator, water pump and anything else that is alumnium in your cooling system. Also, while dex-cool may seem expensive now, you dont have to change it as often as the green which will save you money in the long run

i have a 94 thunderbird and the same thing happens to me,the liquid your seeing is a creamy orange right? the seal between your radiator and your transmission is broke causeing the pressure to built up in your tranny making the liquid leak into your antifreeze....sorry to say but do what i did...buy a new radiator! its the only way to fix it!

i just did this over the weekend. dont even bother with the drain cock which is located bottom of radiator tank driverside plastic plug breaks. i disconnected the lower radiator hose from radiator to drain antifreeze. do yourself a favor and buy new screw type hose clamps, factory hose clamps squeeze together are a pain to put back on. buy flush kit from prestone at auto supply store. connect flush tee to heater hose. connect garden hose to tee and flush old antifreeze until runs clear then disconnect radiator hose again to drain refill with 70/30 antifreeze since some clean water will be left in engine block..

your car will over heat and it will drain out the antifreeze (in your radiator). The water pump will drain fluid from the small hole in the water pump (hard to see) but if u look under and near the water pump you would see fluid. The water pump is normally found in the center of the serpentine belt on one of the pullies. Normally the cars serpentine belt will squeak from the antifreeze on the belt. if you are replacing the water pump you would need a water pump...a gasket for water pump and a new serpentine belt (dont buy a Napa belt)

Your car seems to have an overheating problem, check radiator hoses, cooing fans, presure test radiator (if you dont have a tester the local auto parts store will ussaly do it for free). and then check your water pump (easy pump test, hold upper radiator hose, and pull accel cable, the hose should bludge. You also need to change the heater core as that is what is giving you the smell of hot antifreeze

An easy way to flush a radiator is to remove the bottom hose from the radiator, and put a garden hose in the top fill hole, turn the water on, on the garden hose and let the water push the water out of the radiator. Do not start the truck. This is for flushing a radiator, not an engine. Dont forget to reattatch the bottom hose and refill the radiator as water will also flow out of the engine and will now be low.
