10-10-09 This was performed on a 2000 Chevy Astro van but may not apply to other years or models. First I found the siren under the hood and cut the negative wire going to it, then I found the gm accessory brain (alarm system) tie wrapped under the dash, just above the brake pedal. I unplugged the wide white connector on the end of it and the van started and everything worked.
