Using 80-90 gear oil in the planetaries of a Case IH 8920 is generally not recommended unless specified by the manufacturer. The correct lubricant for the planetaries should meet the specifications outlined in the owner's manual. Using the wrong viscosity or type of oil can lead to inadequate lubrication and potential damage. Always consult the manual or a dealer for the appropriate oil type.
The reverse gear linkage would be attached to the transmission, not the transfer case.

The best gear oil for a Case Vac tractor is Engen Gearlube EP 85w140.
i am trying to fiind out how often do you change the gear case oil on a 150cc scooter, i dont want to know about the engine oil just the gear case oil
80 /90 gear oil but I am having trouble finding where to add as others are. The hydrostatic drive transmissions might take 80/90, but the manual 5/6 speed transmissions take Bentonite Grease. Try Peerless/Tecumseh part# 788067B. There are no fill or drain plugs. You split the case open. The grease is similar in consistency to wheel bearing grease, but is high-temp, water resistant, extreme pressure grease.
1.96:1 is the low range gear ratio of an np 205.
Its is located on the transfer case. It pulls right off the transfer case and is very simple and easy to change...only problem is finding the gear to replace it
Gear oil (80W90 or similar) is used in the transfer case and differentials.

No
Gear oil...usually 75w90 weight. I would use Royal Purple or any synthetic gear oil. That goes for both differentials and the transfer case.
It depends on the trans. If it is an earlier 580k then it has a wet brakek and will need specific fluid. Hytran ultra or Case transaxle fluid if newer then gear oil will suffice.
