yeah, you can use any other oil that is 30 weight. you should not use synthetic though. just go with normal old 10-30W or strait 30W do not mix the two though.

The only reason i said to stay away from it is that some engines are not recommended for synthetic.
Of course if the manufacture say's do not use synthetic then do not use it. I personally know of no small engine manufacture that prohibits the use of synthetic in any of their engines produced today.
Here is what Briggs & Stratton say's on their website. "Briggs & Stratton offers a Synthetic 5W-30 oil that provides the best protection at all temperatures as well as improved starting with less oil consumption."
As long as the synthetic meets the requirements put forth by the manufacture you can use it in your small engine.
