Usually not. The LED lights are soldered in series with each other, and it will be a very time consuming to attempt removing/replacing the offending led bulb and re-soldering them again. Chances are very high that some other component of this module will get damaged in the process. It will be far cheaper, in the long run, just to replace this high mount module.

01 Yukon 3rd brake light removal......changing the third brake light on a 2001 Yukon is a relatively easy task. First open the rear liftgate (not just the glass). This will expose the two screws that secure the housing of the lamp to the body (it also exposes the connector plug which, obviously, you should unplug). After removing the two screws, separate the rubber housing from the LED lamp itself....and there you have it!...because the third brake light is a sealed lamp the entire brake light must be changed. you cant just replace the bulbs. ...

What would cause the third brake light on a 2003 Chevy Tahoe not to work when all other lights work and how would you replace?

I have same year Tahoe and same problem. Check fuses first to make sure it isn't a fuse. The third brake light assembly can be removed by opening the back door and unscrewing the screws. Then unplug the connector. A new unit is about $175.00 and the whole unit must be replacee as it is LED light not bulbs.
