The wire color for a windshield wiper motor in an S10 pickup that connects to the fuse is white. The high speed wire is purple, the low speed wire is gray.
The windshield wiper motor may have a short in it. The windshield wiper motor may not be grounded properly. Make sure the ground wire is tight and free of corrosion.
Red is hot, black is not.
remove the cowl & wiper arms (mark location of arms on the windshield). disconnect the battery, Disconnect wire connector at wiper motor & remove the 4 mounting bolts then remove the linkage from motor.
Take the wiper arms off. Then undo your windshield so that it folds down onto hood. Remove the three screws holding the wiper motor on. disconnect the wiper drive link. remove the wire clip from bottom on the windshield frame. Take out the 4 screws on the bottom of windshield that hold on the seal. (they get in the way of pullin the motor out). Pull the motor and link out through the access hole. Pry the link off the motor pivot. Do not remove the crank arm adjusting nut though. That's it. Sounds way harder than it is.
To replace the windshield motor on a 2002 Kia Optima, use a fused jumper wire to bypass the relay of the wiper motor. Then use the positive lead to touch the positive terminal on the relay. Remove all mounting bolts of the windshield motor and gently pull the motor out. Replace with new.?æ
I took a piece of electric wire and hook it to the motor of the windshield wiper and place it on any metal part of the car and it start working again someone told me that windshield wipers sometimes lt has to do with electrical ground . but any way it worked. loldianedj
I have done that recently, unbolt the motor from windshield wiper assembly first ( 4 nuts - 3 on the metal, 1 in the middle on top of motor itself), then undo one bolt that holds it to the car, unplug the wire, and you are done. ( getting it out will be a bit tricky, i had to later drop the whole whindshield wiper assembly, and pull it out before i could get the wiper motor out , not hard to do, 2 nuts and a couple of lovetaps with a hammer
i had trouble with my wipers, it was just a loose wire,, Pop the hood and look up top near the windshield almost dead center
To locate the blower control resistor, windshield wiper then plastic panels under windshield wiper must be removed. Then remove wiper motor and linkage assembly. In the center of the car under the wiper linkage the plastice heater motor cover must be removed. Remove heater motor. The resistor/controller mounts directly below the heater motor. Resistor unit and wire harness must be removed as an assembly. Install new resistor and work back through directions. Due to the amount of labor involved it is recommended to check the blower motor at the same time.
I would run a jumper wire direct to the wiper motor to see if it powers up. If no power, motor is shot.
It is attached to the wiper motor. The wiper motor is attached to the firewall under the hood. The module can be replaced without removing the wiper motor. Unplug the wire harness leading to the wiper motor. Remove the three small torx head screws and remover the flat black plastic cover. The module inside will slide out with a gentle pull. New modules are available from your local auto parts store.
